PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT OF VIOLANCE AND AGGRESSION

COURSE DESCRIPTION (Refresher)

PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and aggression) training helps to reduce the risks of violence and aggression by developing staff knowledge, skills and attitudes to effectively manage incidents from various groups, for example from patients or residents to staff, from Visitors to staff and even from Staff to Staff.  This course is accredited by NFPS (National Federation of Personal Safety) and accepted throughout many NHS trusts.  All our tutors are NFPS trained.  Delegates will need to show evidence they have done PMVA training in the past before they will be allowed on the refresher course.

 

BREAKAWAY

The delegates will learn how a simple technique can create an opportunity to escape to a place of safety.

During the breakaway training the below contents will be covered:

CERTIFICATION

On completion delegates will learn how to safely apply appropriate non-restrictive or (where necessary) restrictive physical interventions.  The delegates will have an insight of how these techniques can be effective in managing physical interventions.  Delegates will receive an accredited NFPS Level 2 certificate which will be valid for 1 year.  The certificate will be issued by NFPS ltd a global leading industry in personal safety.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

We provide full 2 days PMVA training for staff working in a challenging environment where physical intervention is required.  This training will help to reduce the risks of violence and aggression by developing staff knowledge, skills as well as approach, including minimizing potential harmful injuries and how to effectively manage challenging presentation.
